Even though I can appreciate a great deal, I am not what I would consider a bargain shopper. You won’t find me trekking all over the city or doing twelve things to save $2, but I’m excited to happen upon a 70% off after Christmas sale or shoes in my size on clearance.
In other words, I like easy. You know what couldn’t be easier?
Cartwheel.
Not the cartwheels of your youth, but the Cartwheel By Target app.
I was asked to provide my thoughts on the app, but you should know, I’ve been using Cartwheel for a few months now on my own. Target is one of my favorite places to shop and I really enjoy saving a few dollars on each shopping trip. The app is user friendly, can be downloaded for free from both iTunes and Google Play and can be used on tons of in-store purchases. You can sign in with your Facebook account, with your email, or your existing Target.com account. I use my Facebook account, but I don’t like apps posting on my behalf. When you sign up, during the authentication process, you can opt out of that or change your privacy settings so ‘only you’ can see it.
You begin with ten blank spaces and browse offers from categories like grocery or household essentials, adding in only the items you intend on buying. You can add or remove offers as you like and you will earn additional spaces as you earn badges. They are awarded for reaching savings milestones ($10, $25, $50, etc.), interacting with Cartwheel (example: adding an offer from a collection to your list), and via social sharing (an invited friend who joins Cartwheel).
My favorite feature of the app is found by clicking on the small bar code icon next to the search bar. Up pops a barcode reader on your phone, you just align the reader over any barcode on a product or any shelf tag and it will tell you if there is a Cartwheel offer available. If there is, you can add it with just one click.
When you are ready to check out, you just tap on My Cartwheel and your own personal barcode will appear on the screen along with your coupons. The cashier will scan it and your savings are applied. Plus, you can also use both a manufacturer’s coupon and a Target coupon up to the full value of the item in addition to Cartwheel.
My friends and I joke that it’s physically impossible to get out of Target without spending at least $50, even when you run in for just one thing. With Cartwheel’s savings, we just might manage to do that!
Leave a comment on this post and tell me your favorite deal on the Cartwheel app and someone is going to go home with a whopping $1000 gift card to Target!

My fav deal using cartwheel so far....It was a 20% off Happy tots pouches, that I combined with a mobile coupon and had a coupon from Target baby they sent me in the mail, and of course my Target Red Card. I ended up paying like $4.00 for 10 or so pouches. Also use the 10% off of the popcorn and soda one a lot. Not to mention when the crazy one day only deals pop up. There was one for 40% off active wear the other day, ontop of it already being on sale and I'm pretty sure there was a mobile coupon with it. I heart Cartwheel and recruit peeps to enjoy the savings so pick me!! :) Rafflecopter...I think I love you!
ReplyDeleteMy FAVORITE deal on the Cartwheel APP has been the Maternity Clothes. Being pregnant is an amazing experience but an expensive one! I own just about every single Liz Lange maternity item from the fall and winter season at Target because Cartwheel has had a coupon for 20-25% off, three times in the past 6 months! I LOVE that I can go in and feel good about spending the extra money on clothing because of Cartwheel. Not to mention all of the baby deals!! I
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Target Cartwheel deal so far was a 40% off Giada De Laurentiis cookware (which has 4 days left btw). I was able to get some new saute pans for next to nothing! Yay!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite deal is anything baby related…especially diapers! That is definitely where I spend the most money and appreciate the additional savings!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know about this yet, but I suspect I will LOVE it -- downloading it right.now!!!!
ReplyDeleteOK I just went to get this app so I will be excited to start using it since I love me some Target! I've seen friends posting some good cartwheel deals on grocery stuff so that would be nice!! So would $1000 to target dream come true ;)
ReplyDeleteI love using this app - it's much easier than it sound.
ReplyDeleteAnd I tweeted about it! :) https://twitter.com/Shan_Vann/status/430730490463535105
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this app and have suggested it to all my family and friends. I love it when infant formula is listed. Babies are expensive and every penny helps!
ReplyDeleteI love everything about this App. But I love the hot deals! There is always something I need under hot deals. My husband thinks I have a boyfriend at Target because I am there so much. LOL
ReplyDeleteI love the discounts on clothes for women and kids. I just used their 25% off on all Cherokee items last week. And the app is super easy to use. I just wish you could use it during self-checkout. Maybe soon?!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I installed it and will definitely be using it ASAP. Although somehow I think it'll have me spending more money, therefore counteracting the savings. I think I'll buy my Valentine's Day cards for all my loves with my favorite Cartwheel deal - 15% off Valentine's day greeting cards! I tweeted too: https://twitter.com/EliseNAlbright - won't let me share the HTML because it includes a blockquote but I tweeted at you
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this Michelle. It will work great with my Red card! I love all the coupons for 5, 10 or even 15% kids clothes!!!
ReplyDeleteI love Cartwheel. We started a habit when my kids were little of going to get a pretzel on the way home. A bad habit, a very bad habit!! I love that there is almost always a coupon for use at the cafe. I know it may only be 5% or 10%m but it makes me feel a little better buying them pretzels and drinks, etc! So easy to use :)
ReplyDeletemy favorite deal is the D-Signed Girls dresses
ReplyDeleteI tweeted too: https://twitter.com/EliseNAlbright - won't let me share the HTML because it includes a blockquote but I tweeted at you

ReplyDeleteHey yo... https://twitter.com/ninjapanza/status/430785708605726720
ReplyDeleteI'm entirely too addicted to the Cartwheel app already! Although it's not very glamorous, the best deal I found so far was on diapers. Last week, there was a "double dip" special on diapers with a markdown in Target's weekly ad plus a Cartwheel discount. Combining those discounts with the REDcard discount and another coupon I'd received from a previous visit, I spent $40 less for two boxes of diapers than what I'd normally spend!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite deal is 40% off Giada De Laurentiis cookware

I have had Cartwheel on my phone for ages but I have never seen anyone use it at the register so I have never tried. I will definitely load my coupons up and use it the next time I'm at Target. And if there's a deal on m&ms then that might be my favorite deal :)
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah, I tweeted about it :) https://twitter.com/TCB_cb/status/430849286876573697

ReplyDeleteI got my DD some really cute boots! I don't remember how much off percentage wise, but it was an amazing deal!!
ReplyDeleteI use Cartwheel literally three to four times per week (mostly, because my husband works there and we do the majority of our shopping there...) My favorite deals so far have involved clothing! I've picked up several shirts (bought a bunch of the same shirts in different colors - smart, right?) for about $6.00-9.00 each, after discounts! They often have great deals on Morona, Exhilaration and Mossimo clothes!! My total saved since I got the app is a whopping $128.56! There's nothing about that that isn't AWESOME! :)

ReplyDeleteI've been using Cartwheel for months and really am thrilled that they added the bar code scanner. My best deal was a 15% off Threshold furniture when it was already 15% off on a normal sale. I saved like $50 on a really cute chair!
ReplyDeleteI am just getting into the cartwheel app so I don't many bargain brag worthy cartwheel stories to share yet. I am always sucked into the Target Dollar section and it was pretty cool that they recently had 20% off for the dollar section! Target always gets me for a few bucks a few feet into the store with the darn dollar section! LOL! Thank you for the barcode scan tip to see if a cartwheel offer is available! A little tip that I love to share that is Target related is that you can use Target coupons and manufacturer coupons for the same item. So, if you have a Target coupon for $1.00 off a Method product and a Coupon from the paper/manufacturer/coupons.com ect for $1.00 off a Method product, you can use both coupons off the item...yes you can use both coupons get $2.00 off one item since they let use both. If there is a cartwheel offer for the item, you can use that as well! It can be quote a bit of savings! =)
ReplyDeleteLOVE it for clothes! I shop at Target all the time anyway so being able to save on something I would have purchased anyway is such a bonus :)
ReplyDeleteWhat the!? I've been using Cartwheel for a month or so and I have NO CLUE about the bar code thing - so excited to try it!
