This is Janet {for those of you are new here, Janet is my mom} at Costco. While she wasn’t looking I snapped a picture of her WRITING AN ACTUAL CHECK. Because she still does this. Not just for things that must be mailed, but like at actual stores.
She is pretty much Dave’s shopping nightmare, the old lady writing a check.
And I now have myself disowned.
Happy Tuesday.
My mom and dad just got debit cards. It is like a whole new world for them. My mom still balances her check book everyday like she still writes checks. Actually, she still does write checks for church, and bills. I love my parents.
ReplyDeleteI love Janet!
ReplyDeleteMy parents do the same thing. My mom finally broke down and got a check card, but hates using it. She said she forgets what she spends. My Dad has an atm card, but refuses to use it. He either carries cash, check or Amex. He also told me I am dumb for doing online banking.
ReplyDeleteI totally made my mom get a debit card because this was SOOOO her! Turns out, she really only uses it to get cash out (win) and then she uses the cash to pay for things at a store (sorta fail). Baby steps, baby steps....
ReplyDeleteI still write checks too. Or I pay CASH. I try really hard to never use my debit card. I hate it.
ReplyDeleteI know...when you're 55 and almost ancient you do weird stuff like grow chin hair and moo-stashes too:))
My Mom does the same! It kills me every time. :)
ReplyDeleteMichelle, you should be disowned for this one. Maybe the act of writing a check and looking at your bank balance each time reminds you of how much you can or cannot spend. To each their own. Do not judge...

Okay Little Martha (for those who are new here this is what our family calls Michelle), you SO will be finding one of your DEBIT card using grandparents to watch those babies when you go meltdown mode.......or when you want a home/clutter organizer.
