I am a starter.
A big ideas girl.
The finishing of things? Not so much.
I need an assistant that can be my finisher. My details person. I could probably pay them in smiles and hugs and snarky asides when people are annoying them. I’d be an awesome boss.
I have a million things undone right now and it’s making me nuts.
What is a girl to do? Start a NEW project which involves tearing apart the living room and painting everything. Woodwork. Fireplace brick. Walls. Ceiling. Madness? Probably. Just wait until you see it.
That bed up there all pretty and made? Don’t let it fool you. It’s the only thing put together in the room. Just at the foot of the bed is two baskets of laundry that needs put away, a box of books that Tate has strewn everywhere, and a dresser piled high with stuff. That print? It’s the only thing currently hung. Did I mention the bedroom remodel was two years ago? But this spot is a happy place. It makes me smile.
It’s a start. Now who wants to be my finisher?

That's why perspective is so important- it all depends on how you look at things! I have some zones in my house that if I look at them with blinders on, they fill me with peace and joy! I just have to keep working on the rest of the house little by little until the whole place gives me that feeling.
I would love to be your assistant. We can snack on our favorite Halloween candy and chit chat while we work.
If you do find a finisher, I'll go halfsies on them with you! I'm the same way. (Hello, kitchen remodel for the last 5 years.)
I am the same way - everything looks awesome on paper... getting it done that's another story.
I once told my best friend that I would move into her house and be her nanny and maid if I could live for free in the basement but first she needed to construct the basement into an apartment for me... and then I got married... and wanted a house of my own... silly fate! ;)
I hope you find the finisher or the super human woman strength we all need to get our shizz handled on the daily!
I seem to have a similar ailment - finishing is not my strong suit. I'm definitely an idea girl.
The bed looks great, though!
I'm marveling over the smoothness of your sheets.
I always make my bed - and I TRY to unpile my husband's pile of clothing ON TOP of the dresser - I stare at it and wonder why the clothing is not in the drawers.
I am the same way. I always have a million things undone. I do always make the bed.....but it never looks as good as yours! Our decorative pillows are shoved in the ottoman at the foot of the bed, they only make it out on special occasions when people might see it:)
