Death Metal, Snow, & Strep Tests

I’m currently listening to death metal at one in the morning courtesy of Jimmy Kimmel.  Well obviously as I’m writing, not as you’re reading… as you’re reading this I am probably knee deep in strep tests for the four year old.  Preschool disease vectors I curse you!  It’s not even that I enjoy death metal or strep tests really, it’s just the Friday that I’m being dealt, people.  Did I mention that punk baby Tate isn’t wanting to go to sleep either?

She’s lucky she’s cute.

Also slated for this weekend?  Snow, lots of snow!  {finally}  Dinner with the in laws!  {provided that pesky strep test comes back negative}  Brunch with friends! {mimosas? yes, please}  And sleep!  {hopefully}

Send baby sleep secrets!  Send “no strep” thoughts!  Send snow shovels and chopsticks and fresh squeezed orange juice!

What are you up to this weekend?

  1. Maybe a white noise sound machine for baby and mama to get some sleep?!

  2. she's got this sly grin going on, lol. hope yes to snow for you, nope to snow for me. got theatre tix sat afternoon, and i don't want any cancellations or train schedules interrupted.

    i must ask you a random question about the olay device thing-do you use it every day? is that frowned upon and i don't know?

  3. I have no help for any of those things, except I love me a good mimosa. Anytime you add champagne to things is good by me. Positive vibes for a negative on the strep test!

  4. How old is she? Around 5 months? Older? It is hard to tell. Do you use Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child? I found it helpful with both kids. Is she napping during the day? Maybe she is overtired (if not getting sufficient naps) and then that is affecting her nighttime sleep?

    Hang in there ... it's a rough time. I am such a grump when I don't get enough sleep!

  5. The quick test came back negative, but she's pretty sure it's strep... we just have to wait for the full lab results which take a couple days.

  6. Crap. Why do they have to be so darn cute! It would be way easier to be mad at them if they weren't. I have nothing to offer in the sleep advice department. I still don't even know how to get mine to sleep most of the time.

    I hope if it is strep that it goes very quickly and the Finn-ster doesn't suffer any!

  9. I'm going to take credit for sending snow your way (though I had absolutely nothing to do with it and I don't even know if it was the same weather pattern) Hope the kiddo is feeling better and the baby is sleeping better! Love that crooked grin!
