Finn is weird about pizza lately. I’m not sure when it happened, but he’s all about cheesy bread which he proceeds to dip in marinara… WHAT is the difference between that and pizza? Apparently to a three year old, there is a huge difference that Mama just doesn’t understand. To appease his delicate palate we decided to do make your own pizzas for dinner, he does much better when he helps prep meals. Even better when “Spiderman” preps dinner. It takes a little time if you have a ton of toppings, but it’s pretty simple to throw together, even last minute… it’s even easier if you purchase everything ready to go.
We bought personal pizza size ready to go dough, pizza sauce, pepperoni, and pizza cheese. I also sautéed some Italian sausage for Dave, cut up fresh pineapple & mushrooms, and let everyone start assembling. We popped them in the oven at 375 for 15-20 minutes. EASY and everyone was happy.
yum yum yum! In the past I've also asked my local pizza place to roll out dough for me and then I just add my own toppings or make it into a calzone. It usually only costs a buck or two and they do the work for you!
ReplyDeleteWe do this too sometimes. It is a fun thing to let my 3 year old help with. But my teenage step sons & husband aren't filled up with a personal pizza! Gotta get bigger ones for them.
ReplyDeleteOh and you inspired me to make butter this weekend! I've been wanting to get a costco membership (and wanted to get the heavy cream from there), so my mom & I went and got lucky! The guy at the counter let us share a membership. Sweet!
Too funny...last time Finn was over, Ollie wanted PB&J for lunch and Finn wanted pizza. So, I made both (only because I wanted pizza too. LOL) Anyway, I put lunch(es) on the table and Finn says, "where's the cheesy bread?"
ReplyDeleteI said, "Sorry Finn, we don't have any cheesy bread. And besides, you chose pizza."
It all makes perfect sense now. :)
OMG Boo Boo does that too. I need five because I am five...
ReplyDeleteOk so which dough did you buy? Detailed ingredients please because these look really really good.
ReplyDeleteThat is so strange...I have a friend coming over tonight with her little guy and they are having a sleepover. I JUST texted her and said "let's do make your own pizza" because I thought the boys would like it! Then here is your post! Strange! THey look YUM!
ReplyDeleteDelish! What dough did you get? I could seriously eat pizza every day of my life.
ReplyDeleteToo cute, your little spiderman making pizza. I love it!
ReplyDeleteOh these look sooo good! Did you use Boboli or what type of crust did you use? We may need to do this next week!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE to make our own pizzas!! We haven't done it in a while because I've been watching what I eat, but I need to very soon!! so fun and so yummy!!
ReplyDeleteI wish Spiderman helped me with food prep! ;-)
ReplyDeleteActually letting them help is a fantastic idea and often a great way to get them to try new things. and the pizza's look good!
