I've told you all this before, but my mom lives in a renovated building downtown. One of these days I'll have to give you a virtual tour. They have an incredible rooftop garden and I kid you not the best, by far view of the fireworks in the city. They literally play out like a movie right in front of your eyes. We had an amazing family dinner of roasted chicken and sweet corn and fresh watermelon and strawberries. There was much time spent laughing and carrying on like lunatics with my sisters. Finn snuggled up with his Gigi to watch and then moved over to sit with Aunt Lisey. We went swimming {in this awful heat} at my dad's. We had a great hibachi and sushi dinner with my inlaws. We cleaned the carpets, did laundry, and went to the farmers market. As if that isn't enough, we got the news of Dave's sweet cousin Bekah's engagement!
Quite simply, we had a wonderful, long weekend and now it's back to reality and the craziness that July is bringing. I'm not quite sure how we're going to fit in a few birthdays, a wedding, visits from out of town family and a few friends, a visit to the lake, I'm doing two fun guest posts this month and have four more Guest Blogger Fridays for you, dinners with friends {two this week!} and hopefully some pool time and trips to the zoo.
Can I just say that I can't wait!
Tell me about your weekend. Did you make the flag cake? Did you barbeque? Is it hotter than heck where you're at too? What are you most looking forward to this July?
Sounds JUST like my summer - and I am IN the wedding we are squeezing into the packed calendar. And my parents, brother and SIL are also invited...it was a struggle to find a babysitter. ;)
ReplyDeleteLooks like you guys had an amazing time. Our weekend wasn't too eventful but we were able to spend time with the fam so that made up for the fact that it was hotter than hell and not a whole lot to do. The weater sucked on the 4th which ruined our boating plans and then we got caught in a serious down pour on Monday when we tried to take the boat out!! It was an adventure.
ReplyDeleteI'm jealous of your sushi dinner. Now I'm going to have to make Justin take me out for some. Did you guys go out or do you make it at home??
