I hate to burn my tongue too. Which I always do.
The woman who forever changed my
Be still my beating heart.
Why yes, YES you can. And might I say, you're looking particularly lovely today? Uh, that speaker box really brings out your eyes.
Then she said, "Next time, just order it at 140 degrees."
And so I do. More frequently than I'd like to admit. I don't even need a coffee sleeve, which makes me feel like I'm helping the environment.
Or something.
I love that trick and use it every winter when we take multiple trips to Starbucks for their peppermint hot chocolate.
ReplyDeleteI think the kids temp is 130, but I always have them keep it to 100. Especially for my daughter who is 2.
I'm not a coffee drinker but that is one great tip! I do like Starbucks hot chocolate and it's definitely too hot so I'm definitely going to change the way I order!
ReplyDeleteWow...never knew I could do this! Starbucks' coffee always seems EXTRA hot. Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteHere's another Starbucks tip for this Thursday, April 15: free coffee when you bring in your own reusable travel mug!

Great tip!
ReplyDeleteI NEVER knew you could do this!
Tweeting!
I like mine hot but love that I can get it cooler for my kiddo who does not do hot. Great tip!
ReplyDeleteI had no idea you could order like this! Wow! I will try it sometime. Thanks for the tip.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know you could ask for a temp. How cool is that?!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day! :D
Sherry
Woo! That is awesome! You have a nice Starbucks :) Good to know!
ReplyDeleteOk you should have asked the old Starbuck's barista....you can always order the drinks at a specific temperature (140) or for those that like it even a bit cooler like me, tepid. Much more drinkable!
ReplyDeleteI ask for the 100 temp on my daughters drinks.
ReplyDeleteAlso - Caribou Coffee locations are selling these cool little "sleeves" so I can not take a cardboard one.

It stays in the purse and does not need to be washed...which is the main problem I have with bringing in a reusable mug. I ALWAYS forget to wash them and think its gross to hand a dirty mug to someone.
Plus, do they even take it if it is dirty? Eww.
You know, I've never had it so hot that I couldn't drink it. Maybe the WI stores think everyone here is a wuss so they always make it at 140 deg? Good tip, though!
ReplyDeleteFunny...my sister always orders hers EXTRA hot. But then she only drinks half of it.
ReplyDeleteHa, this is where we are opposites...I always order mine extra hot and then spend the next several hours enjoying it...really! It takes me hours to drink a starbucks drink!
ReplyDeleteI somehow just discovered your blog today. First, I just want to say, OMG I freakin love you for this post. I spend entirely too much money at Starbucks to have to sit and wait for my drink to cool down. I resorted to Frappechinos for that reason.
ReplyDeleteSecond, I wish I would have found your blog sooner. The few pages I got to quickly read were awesome and I'll now have to blog stalk you for the next couple of weeks to read the rest!
